Welcome

The Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project is a group dedicated to researching Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (often referred to as LENR) while sharing all procedures, data, and results openly online. We rely on comments from online contributors to aid us in developing our experiments and contemplating the results. We invite everyone to participate in our discussions, which take place in the comments of our experiment posts. These links can be seen along the right-hand side of this page. Please browse around and give us your feedback. We look forward to seeing you around Quantum Heat.

Join us and become part of the project. Become one of the active commenters, who question our work and suggest next steps.

Or, if you are an experimenter, talk to us about becoming an affiliated lab and doing your work in a Live Open Science manner.

I've been doing some reading about the Kondo effect and found it very interesting. There are quite a few papers written over the years that cite this effect. (all the way from super conduction to effects on the Coulomb barrier)

I'm curious if anyone thinks that the Kondo effect is somehow related to the LENR effect that so many of us suspect is real.

I just read the wikipedia page. It was my very first introduction to the subject. I'm not much of a physicist, but I will contribute anyways.
Very small levels of impurities have significant impacts on various material properties. Very pure silicon is doped with tiny amount of various impurities to create n-type and p-type materials. Controlling these impurities is the basis of a very large and well known technology. \
LENR materials are much more poorly understood. I'm not sure what a property study would look for at this point of the investigation. I do not yet know how to make a gram of the magic material. When we have capabilities to consistently make reproducible batches of metallized goo, we will be closer to moving into optimization of the material's metallurgical, chemical, and physical micro-structure.
The Kondo effect may be important in the future, but my crystal ball is still a bit cloudy. Keep up the search.

Yet another interesting article about Kondo.
What a guy.

This one even claims anomalous heat!

Exotic Kondo effects: Two channel Kondo

it has been used to explain phenomena ranging from zero-bias conductance anomalies in metal constrictions [9, 10] to anomalous specific heat of heavy fermion metals [11,12, 13].

The papers seem to talk about very low temperatures - 5-30k. There is suggesttion of spin effects and magnetic quantum processes. It seems removed from the nickel hydrogen LENR effects. My background is not quantum oriented, but rather things I can see and measure. I don't see how to create bulk materials with these speccial properties. However, both nickel and atomic hydrogen are both magnetic. All of the discussions of positive LENR activity suggest "non-equilibrium" : temperature spikes, rf spikes, magntic spikes ,ultrasound spikes, etc. are necessary for generation of the effects. I don't understand how these gross "classical" forces can bring about a quantun effect. The connection from the classical to the tiny quantum world is missing for me. I'm eager to learn.

Post was removed since it's reporting only a measurement error from the cell sensors.:(

It appears that the resistance measurements are computed (via R=E/I) and that when the power levels are very low this breaks down because of inaccuracy of the measurements. This is unfortunate and I think it's sent me down a dark alley. :(
