I just joined this forum and would like to extend my very best wishes to the MFMP team as they attempt to replicate the Celani experiment. As my username indicates, I am a high school physics teacher in south Texas and have been following the Andrea Rossi experiment and LENR news for nearly two years. I remember first hearing about Dr. Fleichmann and Dr. Pons' announcement of cold fusion while listening to the Paul Harvey radio show in 1989 and how the energy contained within one coffee cup full of water could provide the energy needs of an entire city. It was not long after that announcement that I decided to pursue a career in science. After I graduated from college and earned a Master's degree in biology I worked in different labs as a graduate research assistant for MD Anderson Cancer Center. I am very familiar with the scientific process and funding issues inherent to basic research. It was the latter that recently prompted me to go into teaching.

I never dismissed Fleichmann and Pons' experiments as pathological science. When I teach the scientific method to my students I always stress the importance of being skeptical when interpreting data but not to the point of being closed minded. If history is any guide, it is worth mentioning that Gregor Mendel published his paper on genetic inheritance in 1866, but it wasn't until 1900 that the significance of his work was realized. I sincerely hope we do not have to wait as long for LENR.

It is great to hear your story and to know that like us, there are skeptical open minds out there willing to try and push boundaries.

Thankyou for your essay - one thing we hope we will be able to do, is not just inspire young scientists, but also to try and change the way science is done. We hope that when we go for Kickstarter funding that 50,000 people might donate just $10 and we will be able to deliver a honed experiments for free to the four corners of the world and then see all the data coming in right here and all the discoveries live pooled. What we are doing right now is bug fixing as much as the replication itself - we are developing a what not to do guide in full public glare.

I appreciate your point about Gregor Mendel, I have lived off and on in Brno in the Czech Republic for the past 6 years and in fact have my house there, I have visited the monastery just 5 mins on the tram from my apartment. His pioneering work formed the basis of two generations of my grandfathers business - hybridising flowers.

It will take me some time to digest the technical aspects of the experiment before I feel comfortable voicing my input, but if I have a question or suggestion in the meantime I will certainly ask. I am very impressed with the videos that have been posted, and Ryan seems like a very capable experimentalist.
