Welcome

The Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project is a group dedicated to researching Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (often referred to as LENR) while sharing all procedures, data, and results openly online. We rely on comments from online contributors to aid us in developing our experiments and contemplating the results. We invite everyone to participate in our discussions, which take place in the comments of our experiment posts. These links can be seen along the right-hand side of this page. Please browse around and give us your feedback. We look forward to seeing you around Quantum Heat.

Join us and become part of the project. Become one of the active commenters, who question our work and suggest next steps.

Or, if you are an experimenter, talk to us about becoming an affiliated lab and doing your work in a Live Open Science manner.

I took the time to research the thermal decomposition of lithium aluminum hydride, and it appears that the end products are atomic H, LiH, and metallic aluminum. If this is the case then there are some interesting conclusions and the possibility of similar experiments without the need for the dangerous and difficult to obtain LAH.

The first observation is that at sufficiently high temperatures Li compounds will melt but will not dissociate into liquid Li. Elemental Li is obtained by electrolysis if a molten Li salt. If we follow the reasoning of H. Ikegami's papers Li is necessary as a source of s-electrons, but Li does not need to be present in liquid form, only in an ionized form, and that is available with fused Li salts.

There are other, safer methods of generating hydrogen than LAH, including the use of bottled H2, Note: H2 will dissociate into atomic H in the presence of Ni (See the Romanowski paper). There are a number of Li salts that melt at reasonable temperatures and have a sufficiently high boiling point to not gasify over the cell's planned operating temp range.

In the past I have attempted replications of the Celani protocol with ambiguous results. However, if Li is truly the catalyst in the Lugarno experiment, then it should be possible to make some minor modifications to the experiment that incorporate the Li catalyst and the surface morphology of powdered Ni. Here is what I'm planning.

1. Apply to oxidized NiCu or Ni wire a slurry of Ni powder and dissolved Li salt with a MP < 1200C.
2. Let wire dry and heat under vacuum to ~600C. This will remove any moisture, sinter the Ni powder and possibly fuse the Li salt.
3. Introduce 1 atm of H2 and raise the temperature, by Joule heating, above the MP of the Li salt.
4. Use an airflow calorimeter to detect any excess enthalpy.

I'll let you know how this approach works.

Dear Jeff,

Would be very interested to hear your results.

We are about to start a new series of Celani experiments.

Yet, very few people truly understand how difficult the studying process can be. The competition is fierce, which is the reason that so many students feel lucky that they have got the opportunity to study at the educational institution of their dreams. writing essays for money
