These are silicone gaskets that got replaced from test cell #1.

These serve to seal the end of the glass tube to the stainless steel flange and they have to be in perfect condition to make a tight seal.

Hydrogen is tricky little atom and requires flawless gaskets.

We wrapped this wire onto the mica supports in cell #2 and then realized that it was way too large a diameter and wouldn’t work.

This sensor has seen better days.

It is made from 0.040” stainless cladding around tiny thermocouple wires insulated in ceramic beads.

The sensor tip was welded in our shop with an oxy-acetylene flame and then coated with a ceramic paste to insulate it from the metal shell.

It would love to live out it’s life as a conversation piece.

Paul’s prototype circuit board for interfacing the instrumentation to the power supply.  This unique little circuit board was put together by the electronics master himself as the first attempt to make the control of the power supply way more precise.  It started out clean, but got modified and modified again as he refined the circuit, finally resulting a design worthy of making into a printed circuit board.  Jeff laid out the board the next day and we have them ordered up from the board house already.

2 meters of 200 micron NiChrome wire from test cell#1 and test cell#2.  we have changed the wire choice and the manner in which the wire is wrapped more than once and these wires were actually on the test cells.
