Big Day - Multiple Milestones
Today marks a number of achievements for our project.
- Test Cell#2 is on it's way to Europe! I really hope we can do a short video of the unpacking because I expect Mathieu to be as excited as a a kid on Christmas morning.
- Test Cell#1 is doing its first calibration with Hydrogen in it.
- The treated wire arrived at HUG!
The Euro Cell is off!
We ended up building a custom shipping carton from twin-wall polycarbonate because it is very tough and should protect everything better. I think it turned out great
Being admired by the team. We're so proud. It's like seeing your baby all grown up and going off an adventure to see the world.
The wire!
It is a grey, drizzly day here in Minnesota, but the New Fire team is heating up. As the FedEx guy arrived to pick up the package, he also handed me the envelope with the Celani wire in it. It was felt like poetic destiny.
Maybe not my best picture, but it shows the wire in my hands.
And the wire:
The next step is to finish all the calibration runs at the various pressures and mixes of gas that we expect to use in the cells before we install the wire. Could be upwards of 10 days. (It's tough to wait that long, isn't it?)

Ten days, will be here before we know it...time seems to be passing really fast these days.
