What is Live Open Science?
Open science is something the MFMP is defining as it works, it is an approach to the scientific method that invites critical discussion at every stage in the studied subject. The hypothesis, experimental design and procedures are all discussed as they are developed and during the experimentation.
Live open science is an extension the MFMP is also pioneering. The ‘live’ bit is about publishing experimental logbooks and data output from experiments being undertaken - live to the web. This prevents any ability for the promoters of the experiment to cherry pick data and allows a wide number of people to analyse the data as it is generated, or to call up historical results and compare them with current data.
