Cheers Bob, on an altogether different note I thought with your engineering background you might like this. I invented this three years ago but have only recently revisited it. This is a small scale demo of one maglev rotor. This would be scaled up and four of them gives us a maglev hoverboard. I have designs for the full scale version. What do you think?

Thanks to generous donations from MFMP followers, we have bought the music.
I have also uploaded a new version of the old fire for the other spot.

Hi Bob n Charlie, yes it utilises the Lenz effect so needs to be over a non magnetic conductor (aluminium in this case, easy to retrofit to skateparks).
The lift force increases exponentially as the magnets (in a particular array) get larger and spin gets faster, but the power to lift comes from the motors, so as long as the motor keeps spinning at the optimal speed, lifting a human with four larger versions of these rotors is not so difficult. TC

HI TC,
Video posted on the Watch menu / youtube channel - need to edit the post to include credit to you - sorry for now.
Does anyone know how to remove the "copyright" infringement on this vid - we have bought the music licence before posting and attached same MFMP email and site - but it is flagging it as having audio network content and so plastering the thing with adverts (that we don't get revenue from).

Re copyright. If you log into your youtube account and go to 'manage Videos' you will see a 'Copyright Notices' option on the left. Click on this and then the video with the issue. There is an option at the bottom that says 'I believe this copyright claim is not valid'.
Clicking on this takes you to a list of options one of which is... 'I have a license or written permission from the proper rights holder to use this material.' Clicking this takes you to a confirmation screen. Not sure where it takes you to after this but it should get it sorted.
Alternatively give the AudioNetwork people a ring (I think the USA number is 24 hour) and explain to them what's happened before you do the above.. TC
